Question:

Dance teachers/anyone who knows anything about dance, help?

I'm FINALLY gettinig my first pair of pointe shoes at age 19 (Capezio Glisse ES), but I was wondering.. if you get the Elastorib from Bloch, do you still need to buy regular elastic?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yes, you need both. The Elastorib is a ribbon that has a piece of elastic sewn in that sits on the Achilles tendon. This prevents extra pressure from being put on the tendon.
You still need to sew your regular elastic on the back of the shoe. This will go around your foot, at the ankle, and keep the shoe in place when you are en pointe.
They serve two purposes, and both are needed.
