Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Hey Penguin, Bambuco is sometimes said to be the unofficial music of Colombia. It has a beat structure similar to the European waltz or polska (not polka). Typically a bambuco piece is a folk music song accompanied by a stylized group dance in either a 6/8 or 3/4 meter. The music, sometimes called el bambuco, is thought to be of African origin, but took a cultural foothold in the Andean region of Colombia and has spread in popularity throughout Latin America. The only site that says the teach it, (that I could find) is Arthur Murry - which is the chain. |
