Do pre pointe shoes really help?

One of my ballet teachers wants four of us to start using pre pointe shoes in February. We go en pointe in April. I was just wondering if the pre pointe shoes have helped other people.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: yes, deffinately, i felt more comfortable working in the box of my shoes, in regular ballet class, enpointe! worth the money, the transition for canvas/leather ballet shoes to pointe shoes was easy with pre pointe shoes
