Question:

Im 14, I want to dance contemporary by I need an alternative to classes??

I learnt ballet a couple of years ago and I had such a hard time juggleling school and dance I quit. I also hated the classes and felt like the other girls laughed at me?? The teaches also made me feel really uncomfortable... Is there any other way I can learn the basis I need for contemporary??

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Find a different studio, preferrably one that also offers modern or jazz dance in addition to ballet. There simply IS NO ALTERNATIVE to attending dance classes in order to learn how to dance. I hope you also understand that when teachers give corrections to individual students, it is a GOOD THING. This means that the teacher is paying attention to you and helping to make you better. If you think of corrections as an honor and not as though the teacher is picking on you, it may help you to feel more comfortable in class.
