did you have a teacher who taught Katherine Dunham's method of body conditioning,who was your teacher?

not a great personality BUT an awesome teacher. He studies westafrican caribean dance and modern of all styles.
Basically thats what she did also. I suggest you study all the people who influenced HER and you will see and learn just what she had to work with and when you DO find that teacher you will totaly impress them with your understanding of lines and movements and where they all came from!
Personally I like Pearl Primus.she wasnt as pretty or as light skinned as Dunham and had a MUCH harder life and more of a struggle with people accepting her as a dancer but she made it and is one of the great pioneers to date.
