Question:

I have no rhythm, but want to learn to dance.?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: In my personal opinion, it is always possible regardless of your rhythm; but you will need to go back to basics. Classes are a good and sometimes inexpensive way but if you need more help then one to one is also good.
Because a high percentage of dance is done to music anyway, [lol] i think you should start with listenting to alot of music, [it sounds stupid but for one purpose.. musicality] musicality can help you develop rhythm in a roundabout manner because it is the action of breaking down a beat/rhythm/music to the parts which make them up.. for instance the tom drum kick snare string percussion. Now by taking a paticular instrument you simulate that sound through your body so say if its a kick then u bob your head to the repetition of the kick. Develop this until you are able to co-ordinate a pattern b which one part of your body simulates one instrument and another part simulates another. Its a long process but over time counts and rhythm become second nature because you are able to put your body into a state by which is listens before it takes action.
Only downfall is that you have to have a good ear for music! lol
But Good Luck Anyhow and if i can assist you further in what i mean then give me a shout!
