It is influenced by beats of plena, bomba, reggae and hip hop. Reggaeton music is danced with "perreo", a dance originated in Puerto Rico where Reggaeton started to get popular. It is the easiest dance, because all you have to do is to get yourself shape up and grind those hips and belly. Whenever I teach my students to dance to the music of Reggaeton, I always include the basic... the perreo... then followed with some basic hip hop steps mixed up with perreo.
