Question:

What direction should your toes point when you do splits and straddles?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: When you are in your R and L splits, most teachers ask you to point your toes (both of them stretching forward through your feet) while doing them. Sometimes a teacher will ask you to flex your front foot (lifting your toes to the ceiling) for more of a stretch.
When you are doing straddle splits, most teachers will have you point your toes (stretching your feet and pointing to the sides) when you are performing them in a routine, but when you're just stretching the muscles to achieve a better split, many teachers will have you flex your feet, or point your toes up to the ceiling, resting on your heels while you are stretching. This will allow your legs and muscles to be in a better stretching position to get your closer to achieving your splits.

I hope this helps you out!
