Any way to teach your muscles how to do splits?

I will be taking ballet classes very soon, and at one time I was fairly flexible. The only thing my body had never been able to accomplish are splits. Just a regular split. Is there anything apersonc an do or any wesbites or such that can help a person learn or train their body into becoming more flexible in perfomring an old-fashioned split, or is this simply something a person was born with, e.g. being born double-jointed and the like...

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: what you have to do really is just see What you can do. Everyday you have to do the split going further and further down til you reach the groud. I would do the split for as long as you can. M friend does it for 10 mins so try that. It takes a little time but it can help you.
