Question:

What all do you need to be able to do to get accepted into Juillard for dancing?

specific genres, certain grades/expectations

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: "Juilliard" - two i's.

You need loads of talent, first and foremost. Your dancing ability should already be sufficiently advanced that technique is not your primary focus and you're already expressing yourself as a dance artist. Therefore, note that I wrote dancing "ability" and not dancing skill, as applicants with flawless technique are routinely cut if the auditioners are not seeing that indescribable quality that they are looking for.

The first round of the audition is based on intermediate levels of ballet and modern. No pointe is required at the audition. If applicants make it past the first cut, then they might get a chance to show one or both of the two contrasting solos that they prepared. There are call-backs and interviews. Only 12 guys and 12 girls are accepted.

High school grades or scores don't matter. The only expectation is that applicants have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
