Are they sturdy enough, or will they fall over?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You most certainly can! After attending the DEA program at UNLV and seeing PVC barres in use I decided to make my own! I have found that mine are quite sturdy. (Of course, I teach my students that the barre is for balance, not support!) I have needed them to be portable, so I haven't permanently fastened them together. Every once in a while the joints separate, but they are easy to put back together. If you don't need yours to be portable, I suggest gluing the joints. Find a diagram of free standing barres on the Internet and use it as a guide. If you go in with your measurements, most hardware stores will cut it for you! email me at cmdance@rucls.net and I can send you pictures of mine...otherwise, Good luck!
