Question:

Can anyone show me how to dance fandango?

I am going to make a presentation in class. I was told to make a research on the spanish dance fandango. Can you help me? Is there any web site to see and watch how it is danced?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Fandango is a Spanish dance. It is similar to Flamenco. Try searching youtube.

We have a folk dance here in the Philippines influenced by Fandango and is locally called Pandanggo. It is danced in a slower phase than the Spanish Fandango. I can describe how it is danced if you are interested. Pandanggo is danced like the Bolivian balse or the European waltz. Emphasis is on the hands and feet movements, similar to how Fandango is danced.

Pandanggo has full 6 steps, danced in a 2 bar of note with a rhythm of 3/4 per bar. The rhythm is quick quick slow.

At 1, you sway your arms to your right and your left foot moves forward too.

At 2, move your right foot forward, stepping together with the left foot.

At 3, Body hump.

At 4. Pause.

At 5, sway your arms to your left with your right foot stepping backward too.

At 6, move your left foot backward, stepping together with the right foot.

At 7, body hump.

At 8. Rest. Then repeat.

Breaking of the feet may also be done sideways or backward.
