How to take care of my pencil-portraits?

i have a few portraits in lead and would be gettin them framed in near future. but how to prevent smudging/distortion until then? should i get them laminated and then store them? wouldn't it affect the quality of the finished thing..? any ideas? Please help.. i have really worked hard on them..!!

i don't know abt archiving. and somebody (icteridae) said i shouldn't laminate or use fixative unless its archival quality.. please explain! and thanks, i've dropped the idea of lamination. will consider rice paper envelope..!
