Does anyone know the title and author??

it was about a boy back in the civil war days..he lost all of his family either to scarlet or war itself..he went to live with his aunt uncle and his cousin somewhere up north..i think he previously lived in the shenandoah or moved there or somethin...does anybody know what im talkin about??
