Question:

When did england invade ireland and is their presence their still justified?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Big Deal???? - My family had their home burned to the ground by Brittish soldiers for no good reason. The women were raped and the men murdered. When the republic finally became free we had to buy back our own farm from some English prick, It took 80 yrs to finish the payments the last one was made less than 20 years ago. What the h**l do you mean is their presence still justified?!?!

Plato - not only is your comment offensive, it is a load of rubbish. When Ireland was invaded by the Brittish it was full of frail famine struck old men, monks and peasants. I think what you think you are refering to is actually the civil war in England involving the Catholic king James II which was instigaged by loyal Protestents (see link and get your facts right!) The political situation was never anything to do with religion - you people just like to use it as an excuse.

So whats your excuse for South Africa, Australia, Brunei ....
Well all 53 former 'possessions' of the Brittish actually????

And don't even get me started on the 'Real' Holy War - The Crusades!!!
