Does the person who's best at something in a group have this title or is it the loudest person. I'm neither but can I still be a leader?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: A good leader neither has to be the loudest or the best in a particular area to be a good leader. A good leader is one who motivates those under him/her to do the work that is required. They possess the ability to listen to the problems at hand and without quarrals be able to come up with a solution. They need to be able to not be a glory hog and make everything about their leadership, but about how well the group as a whole does. It is remembering that no ONE person makes the project, but the entire team. They will need to be diplomatic and able to make decisions that may not be well liked. It is a hard balance but you need to be both the enemy and the best friend at the same time. I think as long as you have confidence in yourself and the ability to be humble and to listen to those in your group under you, that anyone can be a great leader, regardless of their level of expertise or loudness.
