What is my "self"?

Question:

What is my "self"?

Some call it the soul. So what is the soul?

So please examine your "self", what ever that is, and tell me what you find.

I've tried and I cant find it.
Is it merely an idea? an ever changing thing that is subject to the exterior world, that exists without priciples.
Is it merely a perception of the world around us.

because if thats all it is then it realy is nothing.
