Question:

Can someone tell me the acting style of the Changeling?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: 'The Changeling' by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, is Jacobean drama. This covers the period from 1603 to 1625, coinciding with the reign of King James I.

The Jacobean professional theatre was dominated by William Shakespeare (1564-1616). Although many of Shakespeare's plays were written during the reign of Elizabeth I, some of his greatest works appeared in the first decade of the Jacobean age.

Other prominent writers of Jacobean drama include Ben Jonson (1572-1637) and George Chapman (c. 1560-1634).

The style of the time was blank verse - so the acting style would be the same as for any Shakespearean play. I have provided the text (see link) so that you can see how similar the style is - although the writing is clearly not as sophisticated as any Shakespearean example.
