Like "chick lit"-- light novels for women, like "Bridget Jones' Diary" and the Shopaholic books-- the latter of which has entered "Mommy lit" with the newest title, "Shopaholic and Baby." It's an up and coming genre, as is "Paranormal Romance" (romance books with ghosts or werewolves or vampires or such.)

Some of the books are very well written and enjoyable, some are by the numbers-- like most genre books.
