Question:

I have never read Harry Potter. Convince me that I should read the book or books.?

I see so much written about Harry Potter, why is it such a great book in your eyes? Why would you recommend it to me? What can I learn from reading this book? Is it just for kids and teenagers? I am 57 years old.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Harry Potter is brilliant!

Ok, I got into in in third grade..I'm now in High School.

I mean it has many life lessons involved...family, friends, romance, understanding life itself. Facing your deepest fears is another important part.

Harry lost his parents at the age of one. He grew up with his aunt and uncle who wanted nothing from him. He didn't learn the truth about himself until he was 11 years old.

Throughout the series he finds many parenty like figures. Including; Albus Dumbledore, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Molly and Arthur Weasley, and a few others.
Infact a few of these 'parently figures' know much on Harry's parents. Remus and Sirius were James, Harry's dad's, best friends.

Is it just for kids and teens?
Psh, nahh. I know many adults who are big into it. My mother being one. My best friend's mom. Alot of my school teachers who are also in their 50s like Harry Potter alot.

I do infact recommend this book.
It's a very adventerous story...and you never know what will happen next.
