Question:

Do you agree with my Severus Snape theory?

Ok, we've found out that upon revisiting a memory (in a Pensieve), you can access dialogue that you weren't originally privy to (see OotP; Harry eavesdropping on James in Snape's Worst Memory). I think that upon hearing the prophecy (part of it, anyway), Snape deposited his memory into a pensieve and heard the prophecy in its entirity. Under the guise of loyal servitude, he sent Voldemort after Harry thinking that that would cause Voldie's death.

Let's go out on a limb and assume Snape knew Voldie wasn't "dead-dead" which is why he saved Harry's life numerous times. According to the prophecy, Harry was the ONLY one with the power to destroy Voldie.

It's obvious from HBP that Dumbledore told Snape about the horcruxes. Once they, and Voldie, are gone, Snape's going to try to take over as Evil Ruler and kill Harry. He won't be counting on Hermione's muggle roots and she'll shoot him. The End!

In an interview that you can find on Mugglenet.com, JKR says that the prophecy in no way, shape, or form refers to Neville. The fact that it very well could have been Neville is mere coincidence.

That's not a part of my theory, that's what JKR said herself.
