Question:

Poetry do you think its in me?

feeling alone abandoned for sure
in a big house i feel like im locked behind a closet door
you said if i loved you i would realse all others
i did and now you ignore me for other lovers
i gave everything i had you see
i let you take away all happiness from me
the anguished person inside of me
is only angry because you would not do the same for me
what is it that i can do
how do i get the best of you
why do you torment me so
painfully, uncaring , no remorse for my feelings
what have i done so wrong
is all the world love lost and gone
no one to lean on or cry with
no more just you and i's
is it time that i pack what is left of me
and leave you with a bangen goodbye..

You asked a very interesting question. It wasn't do you like my poem. It wasn't is this poem good. It was a much better question, and I'd like to take a shot at answering it.

I don't know how long you've written, but this reminds me of some of my earlier work. Betrayal, isolation, pain...it hurts, but it is a good place to start.

To your question, poetry is it in you. It's potentially in everyone, they just need to care enough, and write enough to find their own specific voice. Once you find that voice your work starts to be more and more about how you see the world, the pain, the grief, the hope, the love, the joy--all of it.

So, yes poetry's in you. I hope you keep writing so, that your voice can come out clearer and clearer, because that's when the fun starts (for me it was about 100-150 poems in, all the old ones weren't wasted, I was able to go back and take seed thoughts from many and make updated poems that were more truly mine).

So, don't doubt yourself. Be encouraged, it's a fun journey.
