Question:

In Photoshop when you have an area selected and want to use the 'stroke' command, how do you alter the line?

How do you get a simple solid black line?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You can't alter the line if it is just a selection. If you want to make a selection of a specific shape or place on the artboard, draw your selection with the lasso tool or use the pen tool for more accuracy. I would recommend the pen. Draw the area with your pen, then go to the "paths" palette and from there, use the dropdown and choose "make selection", then add the stroke to your liking with the blend modes.
