Question:

Child acting / modelling classes?

Who can I contact to help my nine year old son join the acting/modelling world. He has been pushing it for a while so I want to check it out then assess the system. I live in South West England.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If he's interested in singing and dancing as well as acting and modelling, then you could look for a local Stagecoach school, just google "Stagecoach" the fees are expensive but the teaching standard high, it takes place on Saturdays and Sundays in term time and the children learn acting, singing and dancing they also get to audition for proffesional shows locally...I taught at a stagecoach school for a while and the kids loved it.
If money is an issue then you cant go wrong with your local Youth Theatre group, these are free or very cheap and again mostly of a weekend, they give a great early intro into the world of performance and you should find details of your nearest one at the library or local theatre.
Agents that are good and are members of the accrediting group can be found in the proffesional actors directory "Contacts" again, you can get this in the Library...good luck!
