Question:

Are our answers to questions on this board meant to entertain the regulars who might read all the answers?

or to help and inform people who are never on this board? I have been told my answers are boring because they are repetitive. I read other people's answers, also.
Also does everyone know that if a person ask a question from the Home page of Yahoo Q & A, that the system is set up to pick up key words and send it to a category?
For instance, someone asked a question about a grandfather clock. The word "grandfather" apparently sent it to genealogy. Now a person can change the category before they submit, but if they are new to Yahoo Q & A, they might not be aware of that.
Also, do people on this board know that all of the questions on this board are also on the Home Page? Now when a question first pops up at the top of Page 1 on this board, it will probably be in the middle of page 2 or page 3 on the Home board. Some people are answering questions from the Home board.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You bring up some good points and I think that a lot of people don't realize the very points you are making. As far as "entertaining" people, if an answer helps someone, who cares what everyone else thinks about it, or how long the answer is, or if it even has anything to do with genealogy all together? I think the genealogy board has more "police" on it than any other board! Just my humble opinion! Good points!!
