Which book?

I'm trying to find a book i remember from my childhood. Unfortunately i can't remember the name of the book, the name of the author or the name of the publisher. Damn. It was a largeish book (around A4ish size, maybe a bit bigger) and on each double page were these whacky annotated drawings of bizarre inventions. For example, there was a homework machine, a racing toilet, swimming trunk jet packs for fast swimming and a football pitch which could be tilted from underground to the advantage of the home team. I think the book was from the early eighties and the drawings were similar to those found in the Allan Ahlberg books of the time. If anyone has an idea of what the book was called, I would be tremendously grateful as it was a real laugh.
