Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: English is about half romance and half germanic, so we get our swearwords from everywhere. . . Germany, France, and even Latin. The 'people' that came up with them were the people existing in those countries before English was invented, more or less, or during its development. For instance, we believe the S word entered our language from Germany. While its origins are debatable, the same is generally true for the F word (possibly from 'fucken', which I believe means to beat or bludgeon---it entered the English language during the 1500's, I think. Some people think it's an acronym but there is no evidence to support that). As far as WHY they're curse words, I'm not sure. I can only surmise that perhaps their bad conntations and the fact that, in using them, you are wishing a person harm ('F you' and 'God damn you', for instance) might have been a culprit in making them *curse* words.
