It tells the 'special, one-of-a-kind' listener that they will be pulled back into line if they stray from the path of conformity. It advises to tell them what they want to hear. In essence it is saying you can do anything you want to do, as long as you do it this way! And if you dare to show any originality, you will be beaten into place. It reminds me of Orwell's novel '1984'. . |
