Question:

What do you think of this poem?? Is it too questiony or is it good? All opinions welcome!!!?

Weakness

I try to be strong for those who need me
Constantly waking up each morning
To the darkest days of my youth
The days grow longer as if the weed of life
I grow tired of the pain and memories of our life together
Every day the memories flood over me
As I try to forget the love I had and the happiness you brought
I close my eyes and see you there before me
Smiling and waiting for me to come to you
I open my eyes and there is nothing but the room as it always is
Empty
My strength has all been spent
As I lie upon a bed of thorns
The blood that trickles down my cheeks
I want to be strong for the promise I made and keep
But I grow weaker with every passion day
How much strength must I hold before someone lets me mourn
The lost of my life
When will I be able to put the lives of everyone down
And let them carry me
When will this room no longer be empty of life and happiness?
When will I once again be able to close and open my eyes and see you there?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: This a darkly yet excellently written poem. I think I know what the author feels, and may be able to compare. When you lose something that was meant to make you complete, your mind gets lost in emotional turmoil. All antidotes are available to you as a human being, yet we tend to put them down due to anger, remorse and hatred for our circumstances. And to answer your question, it's VERY good. Yet the author must know that though he believes all his strength is spent, there is still strength. It's definitely not questiony, but has a tired and exhausted tonality. For the most part that's what poetry does it makes us think(about the right things).
