Position:Home>Arts & Humanities> Do I tell you the truth or do I lie?Question: Do I tell you the truth or do I lie? When I write a poem I write about the truth or Lie Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's very interesting, but it isnt a poem. This is prose broken up in lines to mimic poetry. The difference between poetry and prose is the lyrical quality and flow. It isnt here. Poetry is meant to be read aloud. You should be able to hear the lyrical quality in it. If you read this aloud, it isnt here. Even free verse has meter to it. This falls totally out of any kind of flow in the second line, which is way too long. Read it aloud line by line and listen. If it said "I didnt know how to approach you And ask you if you would help You should be able to hear the meter there - see?? It needs work. I give it a 5 as it is with a potential 7 with some rewrites. Pax- C |
