I've heard that there is going to be a remake of the musical Sweeny Todd, where Johnny Depp will be playing the lead role. Can anyone tell me if there's any truth to this?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yes it's true. The movie is coming out in December and is directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" himself. And I for one am interested to see how it turns out because I love Sweeny and I don't want to see it turn into what David Hassalhoff did to Jekyll & Hyde. So we'll see

p.s. I'm cool with J.D. playing Sweeny but I've looked at photos of the other cast members and in a nut shell THEY'ER ALL WRONG!
