Question:

What am I supposed to write in the Preface of a poetry book I am composing?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: For a book of poetry? Most poets don't write prefaces unless for some reason you need to explain the whole concept of the book--like it was a particular theme, homage or an extraction. Elsewise it's self-indulgent and probably a bad idea.

If it's not your book, then that's different, you should basically for a first book, be giving an introduction of the author and what you see and like about their work.
