Abstract?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Expressionism would be the best overall style (or "ism") that this painting would fall into. Many works of art do not fit into any particular style. Picasso was also a great innovator, credited with practically inventing cubism and abstract art, along with delving into expressionism and surrealism.

This painting is a stylized portrait, done in the early 20th century - a time of great revolution within the Western art world. I believe it was done in Picasso's "rose period."

You could say that Picasso was the art world equivalent of The Beatles - innovative, revolutionary, unique, and multi-talented!
