Does anyone have piano fingering tips?

Does anyone have piano fingering tips?

I have a small hand and I have trouble with songs that have spread out notes. My fingers just can't get to them quick enough without the music sounding clumsy. I try my best with fingerings - I usually go with what feels natural. I usually decide to spread my fingers out and cross over my thumb for spread out notes.
If anyone has any general fingering tips they could give me, I'd appreciate it.

As far as my skill level, I played for about seven years in my younger days, but I've gotten rusty since I stopped taking lessons.
