Is it true that some people look worse in photographs ?

If i look at myself in the mirror i think i look fine, but as soon as i see myself in a picture i think i look wretched. Which of the two is the truth. Is the camera distorting my face, or is it more accurate and unbiased and so picks up nuances that i fail to notice.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i definately think so. sometimes if my friend is showing me one of their "good" looking friends, and say "uhh, yeah she's OK looking", he'll go "trust me, they look a lot better in person". pictures are basically a still shot of that particular moment, so they have to look good in that moment for the picture to come out well.
