Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I do not know where you get your statistics that the "leading cause of death in pregnant women is murder". Though I did hear on Fox News, that most women who are pregnant are murdered by their partner, or any one that did impregnate the woman. That is why they usually look at the husband, boyfriend, or anyone that she was known to intimate with. Such as Lacy Peterson, and the Women who was just found murdered by her ex partner who by the way is a policeman. He is indited on 2 counts of murder one for her, and the 2nd one for the baby, who was due July 3rd.

That said to answer your question: What kind of world are we living in? What happened to the days where we all looked out for alll the children? I will try my best to answer it, plus.

Years ago I am 66 years of age so I am going back to the good old days. The average person were not as affluent as they are today. They worked hard to make a living, were devoted to their families, and extended families. Grandparents lived with their married children, cousins were like sisters and brothers. They all lived in the same neighborhood. Even neighbors were concerned about their next door neighbors. Every ones families, extended families, neighbors were all involved with each other and were all close knit and had a sense of responsiblilty towards one another.

It did not extend only to children, but to the adults, and the aged too as I described above. When I was 12 years old, after I helped my mother, she sent me over to help my aunt who had 6 young children. I would shop for her, or fold the laundry, take the kids to the park. What ever my aunt needed at the time. Not only that, but my Aunt had her mother living with her, who was 80 years old at the time.

Now families, move to other states, cities, and even other countries. This causes them to distance themselves from bing concerned or get emotionally involved, with their families.. Most, not all think of how they can climb the social ladder, they are more materialistic, and tend to think of ME, MYSELF, and I.

Truth to tell I beleive that those people that live on a limited income, are much happier people. They know their priorities. Which are children, and family. They are too busy being providers to get bored, and look for outside pleasures. Their pleasure are more like the "good old days".
