Question:

How to fix a HORRIBLY Underexposed Pic??

Hi Guys. Something went wrong with my camera when i was taking this great action pic. 400 speed negative film.

The Print of this negative Is completely Underexposed. Is there anyway of fixing the printing, or something a high end lab would be able to do with the negative after it had been developed to get a nice print??

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You say NEGATIVE is under exposed.

So in some ways you are in luck. If you were to make an exposure error on FILM is it better to OVER expose. But underexposure is all that bad. But either way if you look at the negative and see an image it can be printed to some acceptable level.

Many time it will cost you plenty of $$ to fix this problem. You will most likely need to get it custom printed at a pro film lab. I once had a beautiful negative (but so thin / underexposed). It took me 3 whole days in the darkroom to get a nice print out of it. I was not an darkroom expert at the time but still you can get an idea.

Go visit few Mom & Pop 1 hour photo stores. They are desperate for business these days. If you show them the negative, they may be able to print it (machine print) and still get good enough print.

Good luck.
