Question:

Is being romantic and adventurous rather a veiled escapism from harsh realities of the world we have created?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Interesting perspective. I think that being romantic is indeed a form of escapism, of making life more interesting. However escapism according to our premise, doesn't have to be negative then, it can be positive, like the escapism of visionaries, inventors and human rights revolutionaries. We discovered a new definition of escapism while aswering, a constructive one.

When reality stagnates it becomess harsh, no matter how perfect it used to be, and it becomes intolerable for creative people, while logical types can deal more confortably with it. Creative people are forced to create a change in the order of things, to be able to feel in control and alive.
