Question:

Books about ocean living?

Hi, I am interested in books, particularly fiction that have a setting on the ocean, not so much in boats but fishing villages or settings where the people live and depend on the ocean. The story doesn't need to surround around it, but the setting at least should. A good example of what I mean is 'Aria of the sea' had everything I wanted in that book.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm not sure if you're interested in mysteries or not, but "Snow Falling on Cedars" by David Guterson takes place on an island in Puget Sound. It's a real good read and the way of life of the characters is completely dependent on the sea.

Also, the beginning of Memoirs of a Geisha takes place in a fishing village. Another really good book. :)
