Question:

What courses do I need to take to be a film major?

I plan on going into the film industry... Do stuff like critique films, maybe direct or write. What classes should I, or need to, take?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Hi,

I'm very interested in theater. Well my brother was in the film industry. From his theater career I have a sense of the film industry. I think the type of classes you should take at a university should be:

1) Screenplay Writing (To know your film script)
2) Introduction to Theater (The basics of Theater)

I recommend you audition for Plays to get experience for your professional resume. When you think you know enough about theater and have experience in theater, I recommend you go to a large bookstore and get yourself a "Book of Agents." You might be able to find this book of Agent's addresses at an online bookstore like "Amazon" or "Barnes and Noble." You need the mailing address of Agents to send them a professional letter, a very nice resume, and very large photographs of yourself in a very large vanilla envelope. Have a wonderful day.

Sincerely,
