Question:

Why point fingers when u too have been through the same situation?

at some point of our lifes, we hav all been through hell, at times no matter how hard we work to achieve something we fail. yet why is it when someone else seems to be failing in life/work/school, very few seem to care?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's a way to simultaneously chastise oneself and acknowledge a moral superiority of "having learned" and therefore GOOD. Now, the other person is BAD because you caught them in the act.

It's really anger toward oneself turned outward. Freud termed it "projection". One can't really punish oneself without inflicting harm to oneself (contrary to the purpose of life), so it is easily done to others as a means of self-preservation and venting anger.
