during the years of George Washington's Presidency. What were some of the consequences of these differences?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Alexander Hamilton thought the governemnt should be a strong central governemnt. He also wanted and succeded in placing the US on the bi-metal system, which is one reason why the US is more prosporous than other countries. Secondly, he felt that the states should not be able to nullifiy the laws they did not like like. this would become a crisis in the Civil War period.

Thomas Jefferson thought the federal government should be central, but power should be vested in the states. Jefferson wanted the Bill of Rights, which would hold in check the federal govenrment. This is basically the argument put forth in the federalist and the anti-federalist papers.
