Question:

What is nationalism, and how did it help prevent radical democratic reforms?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Nationalism was an approach to government that effectively took power away from people and placed it in the hands of the state. Because the life savings of the German people were wiped out by the early 1920's, due to runaway inflation, they thought this was a good idea.

It wasn't, to say the least.
