Question:

How to read a novel faster and effectively?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Enjoy it. Seriously, the books I enjoy most, I read the fastest. If you are talking about reading for school, I used to find that the people who found something in a book to really get into (and you almost always can) did the best work and got the best grades.

Reading effectively means understanding what you read. You can't do this if you skip parts. You might get the plot, overall. But if you skip description or anything like that, you won't get the feel or "atmosphere" of the book. And that is just as important as the plot, sometimes more.

With novels (literature), there is no way to get around reading it thoroughly. You need to get all aspects of a book whether it's for school or pleasure. Just start reading with an open mind and you'll get faster and more effective as you go. You'll also be a more interesting person and have more fun in life, the more you read.
