I'm looking to give lessons and I need to know an average so that I can know what kind of rates I need to charge.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It depends where you live. Ask around your area how much people are charging for lessons (call music stores, etc). Then go ahead and charge the lowest price you found but not lower, otherwise your prospective students may think you are less of a musician and the other guitar teachers may resent you for lowering the lowest set price. Depending on your performing experience, teaching experience, and level of education you may charge more but I don't suggest doing that until you have established yourself as a guitar instructor.
