Question:

Are taboos necessary?

what taboos would you eliminate?
I believe censorship of "bad" words needs to go! whats the difference if i say fudge or something censored?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Censorship of offensive language simply sets some enforced standards for a community. If you'd like to find a real or virtual place, print or electronic media where no words are censored, it is available to you. In the more general arena, we have some standards so that a few potty-mouths won't make the place stinky for everyone. Sort of like smoke-free environments.

I'm no prude, I can use the f-word in all parts of speech. I can explain obscure sex references to shocked little old ladies. And I don't tell my kids they can't use bad language, just not around me, because it is my job to ensure they can speak clean, precise, non-slang language.

Taboos are a whole other subject. How would we know what was going to be really, really fun without them?
