Question:

Does anyone have suggestions on where I could buy a cello?

I'm going to be a senior in high school this year and have recently decided to play in college. I don't want to major in music but it's definitely a big part of my life so I want a good cello that will last a long time.

I'm at an advanced student level and would hope to not spend more than 8k but would probably go up 10 if I found the perfect cello. - Of course it is up to my parents in the end. :)

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I live in Kansas City, KS and have looked at KC Strings and Beckmann Violin Shop already. I dont know where else to go! Anywhere in the midwest would be helpful!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The William Harris Lee shop in Chicago carries decent cellos in that price range. They are good cellos for the most part, its kinda hit and miss with some of them as far as sound. I looked at a few but didn't buy one. I ended up spending 16k for a cello from a private maker. (I am a recently graduated muisc major.) There are some other shops in Chicago, though they tend to be pricey. I am currently trying to sell a cello I have it priced at 4k it is a decent instrument.
