Can someone explain some things from Choke to me?

First, why was Paige Marshall able to treat Ida if she was a patient herself? Why did Victor never notice she was a patient - especially since she was wearing the bracelet. Also, didn't Victor see her outside of the hospital? And finally, how did she escape from the place? Was she really from 2556? Does Victor get arrested? Will Paige be found and arrested?
