Question:

Has anyone submitted a poem to poetry.com?

I didn't buy the book but what about copyrights of my poetry. Does anyone know anything about this? thanks

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: They should have sent you a contract for publishing your poem and in that contract it will tell you what rights you and they have. Frankly though, I think you should forget about it. I'm sorry to tell you that more than likely your contract says you have to credit them with the first publication and that credit will drop you in the eyes of literary publication down to sub-rookie status. You should never even state it on your CV or your cover letters or your biography. Consider it a lesson and if you didn't buy the book or fly to the big award show, then consider yourself lucky the lesson came so cheap--Others have bought the whole enchilada and are no better for it.
