it's been a couple months
i wish i had said good-bye
but it happened so fast
i'll never forget
the memories
the laughs the cries
man i loved it all
i'll never forget you
no matter how far you are away
because you were a good friend

Well, I'll say that your poem sounds as if it comes from the heart. It ryhmes and the message is clear...But it could use some retooling. Poetry is special because what you could say in a long flowery sentence only needs a couple of words. I like the immediacy of the poem, but you have to choose your words carefully. Show rather than tell. By showing through pictures or ideas, you can capture the point you want to get across in a simple way. I used to like poetry and this feels like the things i used to write. This is a good start.
